Welcome to the Advanced Surface Engineering Divsion of AVS

The Advanced Surface Engineering Division (ASED) of the American Vacuum Society (AVS) provides a continuing forum for fostering the understanding of advanced surface engineering technologies. ASED brings together scientists and technologists from academia and industry, thereby merging research with application and promoting coating integration in materials design and engineering.

ASED organizes and supports conferences, symposia and workshops, to promote discussion of basic aspects of surface’s science, technology and engineering. Areas of interest are best described by the list of Symposia in the annual International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (ICMCTF).
